A Dough Story

Les Aliments 2000 has always ensured its growth by listening to its customers and meeting their expectations in an exemplary manner. Founded in 1980, the company began its activities with the sole production of artisanal pizza dough. In 1990, it added pie dough to its product offering. The pie dough became quickly popular, especially in large food chains, either under a private label or under its own brand name, “Pâte 2000.” In 1999, the company broadened its product line and added pie shells, available in different formats.

In 2002, Les Aliments 2000 inaugurated its new 16,000-square-foot (4,875 m2) plant in the Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures industrial park, near Quebec City. In 2005, it received HACCP certification. That same year, to meet the growing demand for its products, it acquired a new automated production line for the manufacture of its pie shells and tops. In May 2011, it was awarded FSSC 22 000 certification. It also meets the requirements of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).

In 2017, Les Aliments 2000 invested $4.5 million to acquire a new 35,000-square-foot plant in the Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures industrial park and new automated equipment dedicated to agri-food processing.

Now known throughout Quebec for its pie doughs, pizzas, and pizza balls for restaurants, Les Aliments 2000 recently acquired Pizza Artisan and PizzéDélic (retail division) to relaunch the line in supermarkets. Nearly fifty people work at the plant.
